Origins A passion for honorary decorations
Drago Paris began as a family business built on excellence in craftsmanship.
Joseph Séraphin Drago, born in Nice in 1883, had a passion for the art of engraving metal. In 1920, he founded a design and engraving workshop based in Nice with a branch in Paris. He specialised in crafting military and fellowship insignia, mingling refined techniques of metal engraving and vitreous enamelling.
Origins French roots
In 1948, Charles Emile Drago – Joseph’s son – took over the family workshop and relocated it to Paris to better serve the French armed forces, for whom he continued to create insignia. He also extended the same craftsmanship to the honours of the civilian world, and particularly sporting events, going so far as to create the Coupe Charles Drago football competition.
Today, Drago Paris has diversified into making other prestigious objects, and collaborates with other great establishments and institutions in France and abroad.
Workshops Passion and talent
Determined to uphold its traditional craftsmanship, Drago Paris strives to develop its commitment to French manufacturing and savoir-faire. That is why all our exceptional pieces and bespoke designs are crafted at our workshops in France: Palaiseau (Essonne) and Saumur (Maine-et-Loire).
And because we firmly believe that each form of craftsmanship is an integral part of French heritage, we feel it is very important to us to pass along exacting forms of savoir-faire such as vitreous enamelling.
